Welcome and thank you for choosing SciBit's MyCon for your MySQL GUI needs. MyCon has a great history dating back to 1999 with the development of Mascon, the first full featured MySQL GUI. We appreciate your support and take your vote of confidence in MyCon as a sign for further development of MyCon and pushing the boundaries of the MySQL GUI market even further.

First things first. MyCon is a primary and commercial application module of our MyLook application framework and as such you automatically benefit from the multi-window, floatable, dock able, modular, easily extendible environment which comes as standard with MyLook. Although this modular nature might seem complex or hard to manage, the reality is we have put much effort into making integration completely transparent and seamless to you, right from the single application you will see, through to the integrated Help. In fact if you are using Outlook, Mascon or even just the Windows Explorer then you will feel right at home from the first click.

How to get started?

1.First you should make sure you have downloaded and installed both the newest MyCon from the SciBit website. led-triangle-blue Because of the modular design, you will not have to install the complete full suite each time, i.e. if MyCon is released in a newer version, you would only have to download and update the MyCon installation next time and visa versa for MyLook or any other MyLook modules/applications.
2.Next you can startup your MyLook, right click in the Folders Section and add a New MySQL Connection, for more information on how to do this, see How to get started in MyLook You will notice that when you click any MyCon folder your application's title/name changes to MyCon.
3.By default the MyCon connection will be setup as "localhost", port 3306, "root" user and no password using the Direct TCP/IP driver (thus no need for any MySQL libraries). If you want to change any of these default settings please see How to create a new MySQL connection or Configuring your Connection for more details.
4.Once setup, you are ready to browse your connection's databases, tables, queries, scripts, procedures, reports, security, tasks, etc.
