Create a subpart index

1. Open the table in Design View

2. Select the Index.gif Index tab

3. In the Name column enter the name of the index

4. Move over to the Field Name column and enter/select the name of the field that must be part of the index

5. In the SubPart column enter the number of characters that must be included in the index

6. Select Save.gif Save… or SaveAs.gif Save As… from the File menu when you are ready to save the table.

Note: Subpart indexes can only be defined on CHAR and VARCHAR fields.
